The Copsewood Sports & Social Club was founded in 2005 from the ashes of the previous Marconi Sports & Social Club when the company withdrew all financial support due its financial difficulties. The previous works Club was founded on the current site in 1925. The running of the Club was taken on by volunteers as an unincorporated members club and attained CASC status in 2006. The Club is in the process of securing a long term lease with its landlord to secure its excellent sporting facilities for the this and future generations of the local community.
The Club provides facilities for the following sports-
In addition, the Club also has a Model Engineering Section and a Photographic Section.
On the social side, the Club offers a function room supported by an extensively equipped kitchen. Satellite TV is available with Sky Sports and ESPN.
The Club changing room facilities are open all day every day from about 7.00 a.m. until bar closing time (normally 11.30 p.m.)
The Bar opening hours are:-
Monday & Tuesday - 7.00pm 'til 11.30pm
Wednesday & Thursday - 11.30 a.m. 'til 3.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. 'til 11.30 p.m.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday - 11.30 a.m. 'til 11.30 p.m.
In the event of there being special functions we also offer late bar extensions
